Electrical Certification
Maintaining electrical safety in medical environments is not just important—it's essential. In settings like doctors' offices, medical clinics, hospitals, physiotherapy centres, and dental practices, the stakes are high.
Electrical discharges, commonly known as microshocks, can inflict serious harm on vulnerable patients who are already dealing with health challenges or are on medication.
Many Businesses are aware of the "test and tag" electrical testing procedure, which is the gold standard for ensuring the safety of appliances and medical devices.
In New Zealand, it's crucial to understand that the wiring in medical installations must be certified as well and according to established standards.
This certification is vital for medical spaces that employ devices to treat patients and can fall under two categories: body-protected or cardiac-protected spaces
For peace of mind, trust Inspec Energy NZ, our EWRB-certified electrical inspectors, who specialise in medical standards, offer comprehensive certification for both types of accreditation, whether at commissioning or during the annual mandatory re-certification. With our expertise, you can confidently ensure a safe environment for your patients, prioritising their well-being above all else.
Explosive Atmospheres Certification
Many industries operate within environments classified as electrical explosive atmospheres. The potential fuel for an explosion can take various forms, with the most common being gases, liquids, or powders. This fuel may be either a primary product or a byproduct of a process. Examples include natural gas, petroleum products, flour, sugar, grains, and more.
The certification process starts with the management of the company making the decision to investigate the compliance issues .
Then, working with a team of trained and competent individuals who are responsible for certifying each stage of an explosive atmosphere facility's progress to a system to manage the risks
. This team typically includes an explosive atmospheres engineer who designs the explosive zones, an EWRB-endorsed electrical designer, a certified EWRB-endorsed electrician for installation, and an EWRB-endorsed electrical inspector who performs the final inspection and certification. Mandatory reinspections occur every four years.
Inspec Energy NZ electrical inspectors are (EWRB) endorsed for explosive atmospheres and possess the necessary training and expertise to provide electrical inspection certification. They perform the final commissioning checks and periodic inspections necessary for the certification of explosive atmosphere sites.
Electrical Risk and Gap Assessments
Many industrial and commercial businesses have been established for many years. Over those years, additions are added or taken away, electrical installations are added or rewired and everything is forgotten about and seems ok until it is not .
Sometimes, the installation is not completed, or finances become short, and one day you may not know if your business is electrically safe or worse you think it is ,ask your self this question "QAm i really 100% sure my bussiness is electrically safe and how do i know that?.
Inspec Energy NZ inspectors can arrange a meeting to discuss what you may need to do, come up with an agreed plan and complete an assessment detailing risks and the gaps between non-compliance and compliance, with recommendations to give guidance on how to address issues over time so your electrical compliance, safety and risks can be managed and eventually electrically certified, safe and achieve a lower electrical fire risk
(EWOF)Electrical Warrant of Fitness
In New Zealand, all Caravans, Motorhomes, or Transportable buildings that plug into the mains system must have an EWOF every 4 years.
Inspec Energy NZ Inspectors can travel to your premises to complete your EWOF requirements. We will only need the lead you use to connect to the mains and a power outlet to plug into for the tests.
